My name is Aaron Byrne and I am a professor of archaeology at Columbia. I also dabble a bit in art history, which works, as our department is combined. My specialty is in the medieval era, and the last four summers I have taken student expeditions to Greece and Spain. I am a proponent of the belief that if we do not learn from history, then we are doomed to repeat its mistakes, and I know the past has a great deal to teach us if we would just listen.
I enjoy teaching, in working with minds eager to learn, and as such, I really do love my work. In my spare time I enjoy music, art galleries and will confess to a weakness for American football. I'm originally from London, but I haven't been back in quite some time and consider New York "home" now, and will stop rambling before this sounds any more like a personal ad.
It's nice to meet everyone.
[ooc: Aaron's actually quite a bit older than he seems, and not quite so harmless, but neither is he lying, so. :-) He's definitely open for interaction and RP]
