when i tell a story, i don't usually start with its begining.
stories in real life seldom have an introduction. real stories start from nowhere. not "once upon a time". not "a long time ago". its hard to pinpoint a begining. mostly because when i'm on a journey, i don't really focus on the start, just the destination or a journey itself. the start is left buried in the thousands of anecdotes.
what about friendships? do we recall the first time our eyes meet? or the moment when we first greeted each other? or the random incident that threw two people into each others path like a deadly accident involving an eventual pile up and chaos?
no. there is no begining.
where do we start when describing a person? his/her appearance? personality? background? interactions? far too impersonal. noone wants to fill up questionaires with an objective perspective. what do we say? lost for words...
so let's start here then...

(537 words in dedication to you)
where do we start when describing a person? we could upload a photo. or write a poem. or sing a song.
but instead, we look at a reflection. and while beauty is fleeting and skin deep, we appreciate much more the things they remind us of. things we love. thing we like. things that give us pause in our day and make us smile.
and when you made the request and made me think... i nodded and smiled and decided i wouldn't write about beauty. too easy. too pointless. too cold. too distant. too familiar to everyone. too 'not me'.
instead i decided to write about the things i like. things i remember. things that give me strength. things that keep me going. things that bring me to life. things you remind me of. things you bring to me. things you be. are. am. is.
things... i would never give up for all the treasures in the world...
