Under Milk Wood

Under Milk Wood…Where do I begin? This play contained so much, within what seemed to be so little. There is little character or plot development and yet we learn so much from experiencing a day in the life of this little town. I think, being in a group that acted it out really helped gain some understanding of the complexities it contains. I think this in itself, is a great symbol throughout the play. While I think Thomas shows that the lives of individuals are not affected by the outside influences of great military or political conflicts, he shows that individual lives are not simple. The pertain great complexities and significance that is lost unless their story is told and I think therein lies the fundamental message and worth of the drama piece. Even the YouTube clips paints a clearer picture that an initial reading. I think somehow this is a better narration than the job I did in our performance.
