I don't even ship them and yet I ADORED this! Really well done. I love the smiles and how she listens and he confides in her about Sally too. It felt REAL. Thanks for the lovely read. :)
:D Oh, wow! Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm conflicted about shipping them, myself, because he's pretty messed up. Destructive to himself and the people he loves. In fanfic, though, I can imagine them being together in a weird "not fucking - just doing things. And having the most important, supportive conversations of our lives" thing and then discovering ethical polyamory during the sexual revolution and being very happy with each other. :)
Thanks to your GREAT fic - I can totally see that too. He's smart enough not to push it any further - because seriously, Don KNOWS he's screwed up and he cares enough about her not to screw her up too, and Peggy doesn't WANT what the world was telling her before that she wanted - that's how she's a career woman in the first place. I think that they would turn out to be the very best of friends - a friendship that last for YEARS (just as his did with the real Don's wife... I can never remember her name) and if they have fun little interludes like this - then that's just icing on the cake of friendship and mutual regard.
Sorry for the babble - it's super late - my punctuation skilz get lost after 1am. :)
Friendship and deep regard, yes! With icing on top. <3
I could see them marrying on paper in the distant future just for the legal stability of it as they grow older and Peggy's already more than proven herself independently from him, if that makes sense? But in my imagination, they'd still be their complicated, poly selves.
But I like non-traditional marriages a lot in stories. :)
Omg I totally loved this!!!! I've been waiting for more D/P fic ever since last Sunday's ep - I never really thought they'd be good subjects for anything other than friendship stories but after the last ep I was like, Holla, where is the NC-17 D/P?????!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you for writing an amazing story that is just as weird and funny and adorable and strange as they are, and the dialogue and all the action are so *right* for these two. You wrote them just like they are. Wonderful.
I know what you mean about last Sunday's ep -- it totally flipped a switch in my head, too! One minute I was all about their friendship, and then suddenly they were inspiring me to write this, the very first sexually explicit fic I've ever done! :D I guess that's what you call a kickass episode.

Thank you so much for saying so! It did feel really WEIRD at times and I'm SO GLAD it came across them weird rather than just... WEIRD! ;) Glad you liked the humor, too. It's weird how outright funny Mad Men can be at times, despite being a very srs drama.
And I think Peggy brings out Don's humor rather beautifully. :)
