This week hasn't been so busy as last week, but I still haven't written much here.
My shoulder has been killing me--I think I may have tore something working out. I overdid it for sure, anyway, and if it's still feeling this bad in a week I'm definitely going to a doctor--don't want to go before then because it might just be healing on its own.
I have been writing more articles for d20source, which means I've been writing fewer RPG related pieces for this blog. For some of you I'm sure it's a relief not to be flooded with that kind of thing anymore. The others, I believe, know where to find it. Not that I don't talk about RPGs here, just that it's being largely channelled there instead.
On the other hand, I'm not doing very much in terms of mechanics over there. JD wants to keep it edition neutral where possible and honestly I think I agree in relation to his blog. He's got almost 900 subscribers, many of whom are staunch anti-4e haters, and almost every bit of advice I have to offer works well regardless of rules framework. On the other hand any time edition gets raised over there it seems to spark a lot of negative discussion, which is stupid in general--on both sides, honestly.
I had to split the shelf after last month's photo to accommodate the expansion of the collection. No new photo today, but soon. I'm decreasing the speed of acquisition from here on for awhile though, as I'm caught up to L5R3e, caught up to Star Wars Saga, and have kept up with D&D4e, and there aren't a large number of 3.5 books remaining that I have especial interest in picking up--Tome of Battle and a couple of Eberron books really make up the majority of that remainder. As always outside of any intention to ever use the system I have no interest in picking up any new game lines--AD&D and 3.5 are around because hey you never know when an oldschool one-shot may be entertaining, older editions of L5R have setting details on different eras of play, but at this point for say, White Wolf games, unless someone approaches me with active intent to run a game and invites me to play in it, I see no reason to expand the collection beyond where it already is.
Besides, with three actively supported game lines (L5R, D&D and Star Wars Saga, obviously) I still have plenty of new material to look forward to...
