QuizFarm.com What's this? Education not an option? Neither is History? Well, Sociology is right there on top, and I guess if you crush the top 3 together into one subject, it kinda comes out as Social Studies.
Anyways, haven't updated in ages. Why? Mostly cause I'm lazy, partially because I'm boring. But now I shall break my silence. Why? Mostly whimsy, partially because I'm bored.
Finals week is nigh, and yet I've already done half of my finals. Had two of them on Friday in lieu of having them both next Saturday. Dodged a bullet there. I still need to actually check my finals schedule for the other two classes though... god, I'm lazy.
Anime club has been going pretty smoothly ever since the theft of our projector. We have our marathon later today, and though it'll be shorter than most (starting time 5 PM... ugh), it should likely still be fun and enjoyable. Hopefully the janitors don't try to screw us over again this year.
Having blasted the concept of it for a good while now, I suddenly find myself facing the fact that I'm probably gonna end up seeing the new Rocky movie. My brain says its gonna suck, but something in my gut makes me want to see it anyway. For this I blame Spike TV's Rocky Balboa-thon and Hajime no Ippo-- the former for getting me riding the Rocky train again, and the latter for giving me an interest in boxing in general. I've watched the trailer a few times, and it certainly doesn't strike me that its gonna be a great movie. But there is something in it from what I've seen; some glimmer of the Rocky franchise, that which made Rocky I through IV entertaining (Rocky V on the other hand...). How you can you not like the trainer's assessment of 'you're too old to be fast, so we're just gonna train you to beat the shit out of him as hard as you possibly can?' I can see the $9 flushing down the toilet already.
I leave the 21st to head down to Texas for our usual Christmas vacation. It'll be a bit different this time since we'll likely be staying in a motel since Grandma got tossed into an old folks' home. Of course, when I get back on the 28th, Kevin will be coming into town for a week or two. So we'll tear things up for a good while, probably watch a good bit of anime and spend nights at the Steak & Shake before he has to head back. And then right before the new semester starts, I'm heading to Ohayocon over in Columbus with several others from club. Should be entertaining, though I do fear that starting out at Anime Expo might spoil the smaller con experience for me. But hey, Matt Greenfield is going to be there, so maybe I'll throw some hot coffee in his face or something.
And of course while all this is going on, our games of DBZ and Exalted continue. In DBZ, I'm desperately clinging to the belief that my character isn't the weakest in the group (close contention with Clay) and hoping to somehow magically get stronger. Heck, maybe this time around I'll actually get to be the strongest character for more than 10 minutes. Maybe James'll cave and give me that million experience points I keep asking him for. It is Christmas afterall. Exalted is going well as well. Things are finally back on track following AJ's ice cream escapade and all that entailed, so people will get to see some of the fallout of Lookshy losing about 1/3-1/2 of its city and a good bit of its military might.
With that said, I've grown bored typing about myself. Why? Mostly whimsy, partially because I'm boring which in turn is making me bored.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
