Shades of Boll

Well, my day has officially been made. As we were returning Andrew to his roost at Manchester, we stopped at the local Hardees for a bite to eat (a very large bite since Monster Burgers were ordered). I flipped through the paper in search of a Sudoku or crossword while waiting for our food, which I did not find, when lo and behold I happened upon something remarkable: a full-page newspaper write-up on director Uwe Boll and his three terrificly awful movies (House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and Bloodrayne). The sheer fact that this existed made me laugh quite a bit, and the article itself helped me see into the mind of quite possibly the worst director ever (look out Ed Wood; Uwe is on the prowl). He generally seems to be oblivious to any and all criticism, and this has spurred him on to make even more [shitty] movies (Dungeon Siege, Postal, and Far Cry). Oddly enough, House of the Dead was his only movie to make money; it made 1.8 million overall as opposed to a loss of 13.5 million for AitD and 23.5 million for BR.

I think I might just have to frame it.

Anyways, moving onto other things, we had our first Exalted since the end of the Denandsor quest, and everything went pretty swimmingly. They returned to Larjyn, traveled back to Nexus (with a brief stop at Great Forks), and then began to look to the future. They set their sights on recruiting mercenaries to refill their ranks after the numerous casualties experienced along the way. James expected something along the lines of maybe 70 new recruits, but due to some rather nice rolls on my part, that number actually ended up at 200. Now they're a full-blown mercenary company in the employ of the city of Nexus, sporting new equipment funded by the city (to be paid for over time w/ interest) and a new compound purchased by the Cult of the Illuminated. Let the good times roll. It seems as though they'll go along with Kozue on her next crazy adventure, so I can now devote more of my creative thought to fully planning out that path.

Everybody did a good job in the game this meeting, enthusiastic about getting to play after the short break. Lisa really busted out her character and started showing us what she could do. AJ was as good as ever, now able to focus once again on running a military unit and chasing ass (Kozue and Vayani notably, though we'll see if he goes for Chelsea's character next meeting). James was having a blast dealing with the whole recruitment thing, and Clay started off well with his Yangus character, wheeling and dealing while helping James plan recruitment stuff (the Fakir carving on the bow of the ship was pure gold). Isaac contributed a good bit albeit his actions weren't quite as colorful as some of the others. All in all, a good job for the group as a whole. Sadly Chelsea didn't have much time to do anything (a late James and Lisa coupled with some slow stuff only gave her around 10ish minutes to play), but that'll definitely be rectified in the next meeting. Then we'll see how she does.

Anyways, I'm tired of typing (I'll have to get more willing to type a ton if I plan on doing NaNoWriMo this year), so I'm done for now.
