Butt Heads.

Have you ever noticed that a lot of smokers seem to be trapped in clouds of their own mistakes?

Have you ever noticed that a lot of smokers seem to be trapped in clouds of their own mistakes? It's like a little cartoon fight going on, where you see this cloud, and only the elbows and the knees of the fighting characters jotting out. Within the cloud, lots of things are going wrong, and the smoker is reacting to them, fighting with them, and we only see the singularity instead of a full person in front of us.

I guess one reason for this is a lot of people turn to smoking as a way to try to compensate for, or escape from, their own little incompetances in life. Another reason may be that the nicotine and foul toxins just create a soup wherein agitation and accidents grow like bacteria in Petri dishes, causing never-ending reactivity and nervousness. Whatever it is, it snowballs into one big addiction. And, so, the tendency to make mistakes probably also grows in conjunction. Smoking could be considered a personality disorder, of sorts.

I was thinking of this when the check-out man, who smelled of tobacco, just forged ahead, steamrolling through his own errors. Like a smoking taxi driver, late at night, engaged in conversation annoyingly. Usually in blind denial all the way. My father was like that. Lots of smokers are. It seems.

And, my guess is that there could be a correlation between smoking and narcissism, (and possibly psychopathy). Certainly, there is some correlation between smoking and alcoholism and, probably in turn, a correlation between alcoholism and narcissism. Because, what do you have, going on? Ego. Denial. Dysfunction. Ruination. All that sort of stuff, ehem.

It does seem like the majority of narcissists I have suffered in the past were smokers, especially the ones who would react to every little sound I made, and then retaliate inordinately. But, this behaviour might also have been attributable to hyper-reactivity and paranoia brought on by marijuana, also probably correlated to tobacco smoking.

Looking back on some of those narcissists, I can list who were smokers...

- My oldest brother - Yes + alcohol.
- Crazy gay guy on corner - Pretty sure not, but had mercury poisoning.
- The Nethers - Yes + pot.
- A-hole guy - Possibly. (His gf was).
- Crazy old man upstairs - Yes + pot.
- My LL-sister - No but possibly pot, wine, etc.
- The narcissists next door - Idk but I kept smelling smoke when someone would creep around house.
- Current creeps upstairs - Yes and possibly pot.

And why is it there must always be cigarettes at bars, used by almost everyone? Is this how narcissist couples hook up? Over fags? Very sad. Like life, for them, is a last resort. And every new relationship eventually becomes a big mistake. If not, they force their problems on everyone else, puffing in their cloud through life.  Butt heads,  Showing only elbows and knees.

"I am Entropy incarnate!"

entropy - and stress, narcissism - narcissists/ psychopaths, my neighbours, assholes / assholery, psychology - dysfunctionalism, dissonance, my past, psychology - addictions / obsessions
