Wipeout!

May 12, 2023 19:25

It's Friday.  And the hope was to make it to the farmer's markets today, because I missed it last Friday.  I calculated that my CFS would be able to handle some walking today.  And my brain was getting really congested, like Alzheimer's, and I figured the best thing to do was to get my BP up and infuse it with oxygen, et al.  So, I decided to walk to the 2 farmers markets, downtown.  (I was not up to also getting to the pantry).  Took an umbrella cuz God was spitting at me.

The rain picked up.  I checked out the first address, and it was just an office and shop building.  But there was a bathroom!  When I came out of the bathroom, the loud sound of running, splashing water outside a back door was even louder, so I stepped out there.  A black dude was out there and all suspicious and I just larked about.  He said he was a barber so I said he needed to shave his beard a little bit and this made him laugh.  I made several other people laugh or smile today!  Only in emergencies.  That's the only time they need clown boy.

So, this downpour was up there in the top three major downpours of my life, ever.  It was just reeeely baaaad! It got so bad, I was wading through streets that cars had to slow down on so they wouldn't flood or hydroplane.  Water everywhere.  Coming up my butt even.  This is not how it was meant to be, mama!  People were in their shop and office windows, looking out, texting.  People were in alcoves and under oh-what-do-you-call-them?  Two cop cars were having sideways intercourse.  One man was in a covered bus stop, but standing on the seat, to avoid the water.

So, I found the address of the second farmers' market, which wasn't too far away.  Went inside.  Another office building, but larger, with more law offices.  Nothing was going on here.  So, I got to the second or third floor and walked into a lawyers office, and the guy was just sitting behind his desk, alone, and I asked him what's all this jazz about some farmers' market anyway?  We concluded it was supposed to be outside, of course - but - it doesn't start until next week!  Shitzola, man.

I left the building and saw, on the wrong side of the street, the building advertising the farmers' market, from the back of the building.  So, yeah, it will take place over there, next week.

Still wading through the flood of a century.  Xing to ATM behind bank, come across teller lady outside her station, looking at the rain.  I made a joke and she responded and I capped it off.  It was the same lady who totally pissed me off when I sought to make an exchange there, on my own account, but she would not allow it because my driver's license is expired.  Don't even get me started on that bullshit.

I think I actually only wanted to make a deposit, for the love of god.

Then I stood, waiting to cross a highway with an endless stream of oncoming cars.  I almost had my chance but a car that should have passed slowed down instead, and fucked things up.  I waved it ahead maniacally to no avail.

Got to Walgreens and bought a small bottle of wine.  And this was basically the only fruit of this stupid yet nice yet exhausting adventure.  Inside, banter ensued.

And, I am telling you, I am having to walk through ankle-deep, to foot-deep, water, at times.  Completely drenched, head to toe.  Despite the umbrella, of course.  This was a long-lasting downpour, for about an hour, with the serious stuff happening for about 45 mins.  Not much wind or thunder.  But, there were a few sparks of lightning, which were a concern.  I mean, completely circuited into ground-water, carrying a metallic thing over your head, and everyone else is inside.

Several vehicles were daft enough to speed past, spewing at me all the runoff that the gutters could muster.  One bus spewed up so much runoff that it was almost black.  Dirty stuff, full of carbon and tiny Chinese men.

Walked home, passed a guy that lived some houses down, and we had a nice exchange.  Not of fluids, mind you.  I am extremely slowly working this community against the evil narcissist elements.

Got inside, dog happy to see me, but not like in the days when he was younger.  Set up all my clothes and bags and wallet to air near the vents, and turned on the AC/fan.  Relaxed, under the covers, as I was now home.  Home and dry.

Billions in my audience have been asking, "But why did he buy more wine?  Doesn't he know it is killing his heart?"

The answer is, I did it for you, dear reader!  I started an important post, this morning, on AI, and ramifications, which is, so far, pretty damn astute.  And a must read for everyone.  Except, there was no way I could finish that tonight, plagued by CFS.  So, I decided to push back the CFS tidal wave,  migraines, and what not, until AFTER I finished this post.  A little wine would also allow me to keep open the floodgates, so I could was eloquent and intellectual, until the hour of my collapse.

And I could finish that post, pour vous!

So, I heartilly call upon you to keep an eye out - nay, an entire brain organ - for that post, wont you now?  Wouldn;t you say that would the least could dooo?  Ehhhh?

Because from wipeout I came and wipeout I gOoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
