Tina Weymouth and her hubby were half of Talking Heads main players, which also included David Byrne and Jerry Harrison. When David Byrne got a little aloof and controlling, as autistics sometimes do - and when he switched from the interest in James Brown to one in Latin rhythms, Talking Heads split up. Before this, Tina's
Tom Tom Club was already active. This unique and unabashedly girly band, with its funk and African rhythms, and Blondie-disco melodies and synthesizer, went on to influence dance/club music of the 1990s. I enjoyed riding around, blasting them out the windows of my Eagle Summit Wagon like some kind of fool. Here are all the studio albums of the Tom Tom Club, and then some:
