Have I mentioned?
I've had many LJ friends who have experienced hallucinations, or various manifestations of schizophrenia, (or whatever the latest DSM name for it is now). I'm having a hard time remembering just who of you are amongst these! Is it you? If it's you, then you'd outta think of joining a new community for people of your ilk. Because here is a place where you can share your experiences and feelings.

I know that there are even more of you who are just plain interested in the subject of consciousness - how and what we perceive. So, this is also a place where everyone can discuss what, "reality," means to them. You can discuss hallucinations, dreams, psychic experiences, altered states, emotions, superstition, drug experimentation - and the whole topic of consciousness in general. Personally and philosophically.
I have always believed that hallucinations are not so much unrealities as windows into various manifestations of reality. It is possible for something to be a chemical disturbance in the brain AND be an alternate form of reality or consciousness. Why not? And, if someone is making utterances, which they hear and then mistake for voices in their heads - why is that not also a form of reality? Get out of the normalcy bias, man. Everything is conscious. Everything is real - and everything is unreal. Check it out.
