Would you pay through the JAWS?

I guess I missed the $3 movie day.  Here is a film that did well, Saturday.  Jaws.  I've seen this film, and thought it was dorky and boring.  But maybe my leg jerked once or twice while watching it.  I had a gf who loved sharks.  She was not for me.  I am not a shark.  Although, I guess sharks are useful for keeping monsters from evolving and coming up here to eat us.  Unless sharks do.  Who could blame sharks?  Who could blame a poor wee shark?  Anyway, I've always thought that this movie must have been indicative of something going on in America's subconscious.  Now, I think I know what it might be: Inflation.  Or, also, dread of some future election upset.  Or maybe just people didn't think of sharks before that.  The fact that the movie was made by Spielberg might suggest there might have been, finally, some kind of dark, secret holocaust catharsis involved.  Or maybe it was a devious play on, "Jews".  When it comes down to it, I can never separate social dynamics from economics, or anything else.
