How the Irish saved civilisation.

Send me away to Iona
For my dog send but a bona
And there I'll mull and mind my bowl
And find the time and world alona
To think of ghosts before and aft
Unlocking crimes you now ignora
Leave me be in my bee loud glade
That Mind may trace the spots it sees
And toss and turn to turn the light
Illuminating Nazis

Here I'll draw the hounds of night
Together with a hell-bound chimera
And fish and crab and bull alike
In a boar-gut slowly simmera
I'll feast on all the storm and blight
Put for and under and over right
Our heads before and ever tight
A well of new intelligence

I'll strike and allow to fly
To mist about these graves like dog and I
To swallow us as well within its spell
Our skulls locked frozen in a scream
The air of dawn and also dusk
Will circulate around all of us

An influence from the sun or stars
Or maybe from the planet Mars
Envelopes all as all lay sleeping
Creeping, reaping, new life seeding
Dooming and entombing in one fell swoop
Whether it be from hell or heaven
We lie here just as well unwoken
And utter not the great unspoken

Leave me in Iona be
My dog, my life and me
To watch from here a moment's fall
Like a raindrop on the crashing seas
Beyond the reach of your possessive calls
Let me see, let me be
The quantum in a cup of tea
The starlight in a spark of peat
The solace in infinity

Away
From very far away, maybe
I am here, and now, and everywhere
Following eternity
