This is my dog, an Akita. I don't understand why Wikipedia doesn't go directly to the dog.
Mine is jet-black.
If you look up Akita on the internet, it will tell you that the breed is very independent, and needs discipline every day, or else he will maybe eat you.
I think the breed is only aggressive if you don't know how to handle this independent spirit.
People who come by and mock me and my dog just don't understand dogs, much less this breed.
This is an awesome animal. He disturbs me often, but, still, it is worth it. It has been a long trial, but I have learnt to love northern dogs - Spritz's. Mastering these dogs has really humiliated and enriched me. So, I am really thankful that they exist, and I really miss my dogs who are gone, now. I don't know why this whole separation between humans and animals began, but it is false. Just because they don't speak our version of language. I know as much spirituality from dogs as I know from humans.
And, yes, my dog acts like a cat, in some ways. Which also bothers me, because he is licking up all the pollution that gets on his paws. I've had this dog since, idk, it's in my jnl, maybe 2009??? He's old, but my dog-loving LL said he was in great shape. I want to extend his lifespan by getting him the hoolahoop outta here.
