Today is the birthday of Bruce Watson, a Canadian born Scot guitarist for the Scotlish group, Big Country, known for guitars that sounded like bagpipes. Wow, I remember the lawsuit but I don’t think I ever knew what resulted. I remember it was a huge deal.

Then forgive me for referencing this but I remember not long after that (I think) one of One Direction’s members (whichever one) commented he couldn’t hear any resemblance of Summer Lovin intro with That’s what makes you beautiful’s intro... 😕

Yeah, I never knew of the connexion until now. Don't want to be glib, but I thought Ham was being both honourable and stupid. Too bad.

I should also have mentioned the suicide of the guy in Frightened Rabbit.

I don't think I've heard One Direction, since I've been disconnected for a few reasons. But they sound like a great group and very digestible. Nice to see cute Irish boys making it big. I don't know about the similarity on those two song but my guess is you are probably right. There are similarities in so many songs, especially from newer artists.
