dog day's journey into cat
At the store on Thursday, bought 10 cans of Friskies cat food - for my dog. 50 cents per can. Although they have a subtle taste of evil about them, my dog seems fine with them. I can give him 1/2 can for his morning mini-meal, and 1/2 can for his night mini-meal, w/ something extra thrown in here or there. Although I make a big batch of "wet" dog food, which is gluten-free, the dry food which I usually mix in with that contains 1/2 F&F dry food, which contains wheat - (the other half is "Bleu" grain-free$$$). I feel wheat in his diet is as bad for him as it was with my last two dogs, all of which exhibited similar health idiosyncrasies, possibly because they caught my CFS, who knows. (CFS isn't contagious for humans).
Well, the Friskies, so far, contain no wheat! So, I can make both his morning and night mini-meals wheat-free. These are the more important meals, as far as the stability of his stomach goes. Btw - I got the giant bag of F&F ("High Protein") dry dog food over a year ago, (with wheat), and it smells like the oil is gone rancid. I will be continuing to mix it in w/ the other foods for the foreseeable future, unfortunately. At least it comprises less than 1/4th of his MAIN meal now. But the slower I use it up, the more stale it becomes. But the faster I use it up, the more surprise deliveries my dog makes on my Living Room carpet.
I have often been giving him a raw egg in the morning, as most of his mini-meal. I think this is good for him. I also tried giving him raw, (bone-free), chicken a few times, and this seemed to help clear up the, um, indigestion. Special dog enzymes. I also heard that letting a dog fast for a day, every so often, is good for them. I have also found this to be true. However, this is easier said than done.
These stomach problems all began after he got his first vaccination at the vet. I have to walk him over there some morning soon when I am able, and get his latest shots and registration taken care of, or I will be in trouble soon. The stomach problems are related to the slightest stress, as well as any irritation of the gut wall, including bones, wheat, and rawhide dog chews, which are a Communist conspiracy.
"Hey, Boomer!" - Love that commercial. But the girl says, "I learned in school today that 60% of our bodies are made of water!"
What is wrong with that sentence? That's right, it is saying that 40% of all people are made of matter, and 60% of all people are made of water! The majority of human beings are bizarre WATER-BEINGS!
The sentence should be, "I learned in school today that 60% of our bodies is made of water!" Even better, "Each of our bodies is 60% water!" (Actually, I recently heard that the figure is 72%.
