I wish that someone I know read this. He claims to be a devout Catholic. He once told us about taking some clothes and things to one of our DTES missions after Halloween. He was also taking some leftover Halloween candy. En route to the mission, he encountered a prostitute, and he gave her a candy bar. Anyways, he was quite self-congratulatory about that, but I was thinking: Dude, before you start feeling too righteous, keep in mind that you voted in the government that keeps that woman on the streets.

(Did I mention that when Gordon Campbell's "Fiberals" came in, one of the first things they did was make it harder for people to get welfare, and make all kinds of cuts to social services/ fees for government services that made life considerably more difficult for low-income people?)

Thanks. It's largely narcissism - fancying oneself like unto jesus, walking with the scum of the earth (judge judge), then voting self-interest, (because they now deserve it), thinking that politics = economy = fairness - (or maybe not even getting that far in their thought... all they need is some rationale for selfishness). They "deserve" the selfishness cuz why? Maybe guilty pleasures. Cheating out of self-hatred. Living a lie from age one. Only have a finite amount of will power. Private stress and antipathies. Being in with the IN crowd. And apparently the Christian hypocrites are the IN crowd these days. Or, to a degree, they assume the life-style of exploitation, based on confusing and confounding, by saying one thing and doing the opposite, eventually lying so much to themselves they don't even see it anymore.

I think you made clear to me about the "Liberals" up there, but my mind is all a wreck from a long relapse caused by the Nether People about week ago.
