Such a fatigued day! This post is about health and food. My next goals are to buy 50 pounds of sunflower seeds; and also hopefully figure out how to buy bulk amounts of V8.
Curry is an Indian food. Curry usually contains the spices Turmeric and Cumin. Also Fenugreek which fights baldness and plumps up breasts, among other things. Cumin is a wonderful spice also used in Mexico, etc. Add sliced bananas with plain yogurt and a little lemon juice and plain coconut and CUMIN, and you have an awesome sour/sweet dessert. Well, in both Turmeric and Cumin is CURCUMIN, a supplement with fascinating properties. I have long praised the health benefits of Turmeric, but now it's really in the news. I take tiny 1/2 teaspoons of Turmeric, and also take some GRAPESEED EXTRACT (research this!), and vitamin D3, and a very tiny amount of Baking Soda. (At other times, I take a mix of Turmeric which includes other things, including garlic and onion, which fight mouldish infections and is also good for blood pressure). I believe these all work synergistically. Now, step right up and read more...
Curcumin found to prevent brain degenerative diseases including Parkinson's and Alzheimer's(NaturalNews) Researchers from Michigan State University, publishing the result of a study in the Journal of Biological Chemistry have found that this amazing natural compound is able to prevent the destructive formation of alpha-synuclein proteins that are the hallmark presentation in many neurodegenerative disease such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
Curcumin, Turmeric Proven Effective at Preventing Parkinson’s DiseaseNatural Society - Parkinson’s disease is experienced by more people than those suffering from multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and Lou Gehrig’s disease combined. It is estimated that 7-10 million individuals are living with Parkinson’s worldwide, with 96 percent of diagnoses occurring after the age of 50. What these millions of people need to know is that their disease can be helped with numerous natural remedies. A compound from an ancient herb known as turmeric is one of those remedies.
Vitamin D3 and curcumin synergistically clear brain tangles to help prevent Alzheimer's dementia(NaturalNews) New hope is now offered by scientists from the University of California publishing in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, as they have identified the specific intracellular mechanism regulated by vitamin D3 that may help the body clear the brain of amyloid beta. There has been scant evidence in the past to show that vitamin D and the curry-derived compound, curcumin help to prevent Alzheimer's dementia. Researchers now provide solid research-based science to explain the precise pathway used by these two natural substances to help stimulate the immune system to activate key genes involved in clearing the amyloid-beta protein.
Study finds link between toxic aldehydes in reheated oil and neurodegenerative diseases, cancer(NaturalNews) Depending on the type of oil you use to cook -- and whether or not you reheat that oil for multiple uses -- you could be exposing yourself to high levels of toxic aldehydes, chemicals known to cause neurodegenerative disease and cancer. Researchers from the University of the Basque Country (UBC) in Spain have found that some popular cooking oils, including soybean and sunflower oils, generate high levels of toxic aldehydes when heated and reheated.
I urge you to listen to WHAT? ALEX JONE?! Yes - there was a great deal of discussion about food issues on his show today. Listen to the whole show, including his rail against the FERRET, and you will see why I listen to him. Another highly recommended POWER HOUR show, which was a rebroadcast. Tells you a LOT about herbs and spices. March 28:
