I am up before 8 on a Sunday and I'm not terribly happy about it. I AM happy about the reason for it, which is the delivery of my new washer and dryer, but damn. Wanna sleeeeep.
I'm also in pain. Yesterday I went on a Babes hike to Mohican State Park. We planned a long hike, 9ish miles, but when all was said and done, we hiked for twelve freaking miles. This may have been a bit much for me. It felt okay at the time. I was definitely sore and tired by the time we were done. But now it feels like I may have really strained my right leg. The behind-the-knee area is sore enough that I'm limping. It'll be fine. Just in the little bit I've been hobbling around this morning it's loosening up some. But it was worth it because it was a great hike and I really have a better idea of my distance capabilities (I didn't start feeling it a lot until about mile 9-10). It's a little weird to me that it's just my right leg. I don't know why that would be. Do I favor it somehow when I'm walking? Did I just strain it a little bit at some point and then it got compounded? It's a mystery. I'd hoped to do another hike today with a different club and yeah that isn't happening. Oh well. This trip only makes me sing the praises of my Keen trail shoes more, by the way. It was not my feet that were the distance-limiting body part here, it was my legs. My feet could have gone on and on.
There was much exclaiming among the Babes over the Car of Great, which had a good time on its first highway trip of any significance and even got to drive in the rain!
We saw the most amazing rainbow on the way home. We could see the whole arc and it was amazingly bright. So pretty!
