Weekend updates

I went on a date this weekend. It was nice. I met a guy on OkCupid, we met for dinner at a Japanese/Korean restaurant I'd never been to but which was totally awesome. He's very into the Asian cuisines. He was very nice, polite, seemed smart. Very cute. He was very soft-spoken and maybe a little shy, but we did all right conversation-wise. If he calls I will happily go out with him again. He indicated that he would be doing so. I can't tell much more than that right now.

Yesterday I had lunch with my friend Dave, worked here at Le Centrale du Geek for a couple of hours, spent most of the rest of the afternoon finishing a giant epic fic I haven't been talking about on this journal much and starting to post it, and also working on Le Sequel du Zero (Zero which got two new Amazon reviews this weekend! Still running 5.0/5.0 overall!). Saturday I went to the gym and sure enough, it was much busier than usual for a Saturday and there were a metric shit-ton of people getting The Tour and The Pitch. I enjoyed my fleeting moment of feeling accomplished and then I was back to my regular self.

I also went out and bought an external hard drive. My near-computer-disaster of Friday night put the fear of God into me and all my files are now backed up and safe. I got an HP SimpleSave 500G drive at Target for $100 which I consider money well spent. I also scored a six-foot pre-lit Christmas tree for $15! Woot! It was 75% off. Love those post-Christmas sales. One of the reasons I didn't put up decorations this year is that I had no tree. Won't be a problem next year!

Man, the holidays kinda messed up my routine. I've been staying up too late again. If I can get to the gym tonight and go to bed at a reasonable hour I'll be back on track.

Necklace of the Day!
