Easy like Sunday...uh, afternoon

It's been such great weather this weekend. Yesterday I participated in a Pride event at Stonewall, an art show and reading. The reading went well, except it was super hot in the upstairs room where it was held plus they had floodlights on me and I was dripping by the time I finished my 15 minute excerpt. But everyone was super enthused about it, and I sold two books and gave out quite a few business cards.

Afterwards we went to a neighborhood bar for Liza's birthday and hung out for awhile, then Dayna and I met Tony at the Waffle House for late-night hashbrowns. I tell you, the people that work the overnight shift at Waffle House are invariably awesome. Although it was like a meat locker in there, I swear.

Today I am taking it easy. I went to sit on my lovely patio and read for awhile. Shade from the umbrella, nice breeze, pretty flowers...and the incessant roaring and clanking from the a/c units all around me. I had turned my own off but the neighbors on either side hadn't done the same. I couldn't stay out for very long, the racket was getting to me. That SUCKS. I go to all the trouble of making my patio nice and inviting and I can't even go relax out there because all the a/c units on everyone's patio sound like a fleet of jet engines taking off.

Grr.

I might go to a movie later. I am congratulating myself because I actually finished my movie preview article on Friday, so I don't have to worry about finishing it today like I so often do. Go me.

Oh, and my Current Music is totally my new favorite song.
