I think Australia would've been a much more enjoyable (and even more satisfying) film if it had been wrapped up when they got the cattle to the boat.

TOTALLY agree with you about the effects in Wolverine: I could hardly believe that some of them had passed muster for the final cut. I mean, this is a proper big time movie! Perhaps it was some strange Mummy Returns situation - I read somewhere (Empire I think) that the ILM people were actually wrapped up in SW Ep 2 at the same time and TMR suffered for it. Also: the opening credits seemed an awful lot like the Watchmen opening credits!

I so agree about Gambit, but how can you talk about Australia and not mention the scene where Drover pours water over himself? It's jaw dropping, even if it's one of the few scenes from the movie that I've seen. I can't imagine how that didn't stand out for any hetero woman!

Oh, it definitely stood out, but it was just so...contrived. It was kind of ridiculously posed like some kind of softcore moment. Not that I didn't appreciate it, but it was sort of silly.

As an Australian, it was kind of fun to see some of my own history getting the big-budget treatment, but beyond that you just had to take it as being a bit of fun. :P

I really hated Taken. Too many plot holes and characters acting despicably (and I'm not talking about the "bad guys").
