Birthday report
Well, I had a totally awesome birthday, actually. Had birthday dinner at one of my favorite restaurants with friends, including Alyzan who drove 1.5 hours into town just to come along. From TLR I got a double picture frame and a Home Depot gift card (rock on!). From Nancy I got a blown glass praying mantis. It rules. Although I'm forced to wonder what about me makes her think "praying mantis."
And I got a ton of phone calls. The minute I got home from dinner the phone started ringing. First it was my brother, which shocked the hell out of me (he never remembers that stuff). Then it was my friend Liz. Then it was Kristen. Then it was Amy. I spent a lot of time on the phone last night.
As I said to Alyzan, the older I get, the less of a to-do I want on my birthday. It's not that I'm sensitive about my age, I'm not, but really all I want is to have it acknowledged. See some friends, hang out.
Thank you to everyone here on LJ who left me birthday wishes on your own journals. I saw all of them, and I'm so appreciative of the happy thoughts!
So, pretty much everybody in my life remembered my birthday. Oh yeah, except for my parents, who totally forgot. Heeeeee. I love having ammo on them.
