No, the chapter isn't ready, before you ask. But I'm making slow but steady progress on it. This will be the second-to-last chapter, and it's chock full of action/plot scenes which all have to contain exactly the right plot points and which all have to occur in a specific order and it's damned hard to write.
But I thought I'd talk for a moment about my plans for after HWTF.
The final chapter, chapter 14 (I know, it's a shame I couldn't have made it 15 like the other two), won't be as long, I imagine. After that, I'm going to make a format change. This change will mean that none of you will ever have to wait for chapters from me again.
Once HWTF is over, I'm going to shift to a shorter format. The stories will be possibly 4-5 chapters, and shorter chapters. They'll be more self-contained, although still connected. The first one after HWTF, in particular, will have to wrap up several plot threads from the series, including the whole "who is the mole" issue. In short, the post-HWTF series will more closely resemble "Appomattox/Gettysburg" than any of the three big stories.
I've decided that I will not post these shorter installments until they are complete. Once they are, I will post them, say, a chapter a week. This means that while you may still be waiting between stories for several months or more, you will never be waiting mid-story again. Also, if I decide that I'm quitting the HP ficcing scene, at least I won't be leaving a story unfinished.
I kind of wish I could have done this for the existing stories, but wow that would have been a long wait for HWTF. But I know that as a fanfic reader myself, if I like a story, I will wait for it. I hope all of you feel the same way.
