For posterity...
I have started my new rewrite. The first four sentences of Third, v. 5.0, have been written.
I have my hardcopy sitting here on a little typing stand and I'm kind of intimidated by it. Did I write this doorstop? I don't remember writing that many words.
My hope is to cut at least 100 pages of overall length. We'll see.
Meanwhile my parents are cavorting in the Napa Valley, tasting wine and taking in the scenic vistas. Must be nice. Some of us have to work for a living, you know!
But I did have a lovely brunch today at this great Cuban diner in town. I had huevos rancheros, and they were delicious.
