Okay, have thought of a topic to alleviate boredom with Fanfic Discussion

Get rid of the Buffy crossover in STNE. It was, in my opinion, the weakest part of the series.

I second that. As much as I liked it as first, it seemed extremely out of place with everything else that was going on in the chapter.

That was exactly what I was going to bring up. I also think some of the stuff between the Master and Allegra sexually could be removed. We got the point about his dominance of her. It takes a lot to get me squirmy about fan fic. I always ended up skimming those sex scenes because they didn't add to the story. That was really the only area that seemed gratuitous. (And I am usually a big fan of gratuitous)

Thanks for sharing your baby with us. I know it's yours, but it takes a lot to go soliciting this kind of "what did you hate".

I don't think the stuff about the master/allegra should be removed at all. it's because it's squicky and uncomfortable and perfunctory that they're so good. Allegra is someone who does everything for a purpose, even sex. The master is using it to turn her against herself and everything that she was before he actually materialized. It's the last area of her life that she has control over and he takes it. And of course re-establishes it by having an affair with Napoleon.

Um...SO not what I was referring to. That stuff is in HWTF, which I don't plan to touch. Just PoU.

And no, I feel that the Master/Allegra sex is important for her character, and for his as well. I have no plans to change anything in HWTF...yet.

Okay, I must have stated badly. I understand the importance of the interplay between the Master and Allegra. I agree that it is integral. I was only trying to say that there was a bit too much of it. That was all. It is unimportant now as Lori was only referring to PoU (Sorry I misunderstood) but I wanted to clarify my comments. It shouldn't be removed because it makes me uncomfortable. I just thought it should be scaled back because it made its point and seemed to be flogging the horse so to speak.

Unfortunately I do not have any current plans to rewrite STNE (though give me a few years and we'll see how I feel) but if I did, that crossover would be the Number One thing on the chopping block.

What was I thinking?

Eh, while Master/Allegra non-con squicks me, it's rather integral to her defection (however long it lasts). Besides, I kinda like the sick, twisted, Oedipal aspect of that storyline.
