Senex is an odd name for a Roman senator. It litterally means "old man".

Semantics. :D I'm thinking they're going with the "master and mistress" aspect, though, not the "I'm your bit on the side" one...after all, my Latin copy of Philosopher's Stone starts out "Dominus et Domina Dursley..." :))
