SAT flashbacks

On the latest Ask Lori a Science Question, annearchy got all clever and asked me one of those "If a train leaves the station..." SAT questions. (it wasn't that hard, by the way, Anne)

I have not done one of those since the eighth grade, but I'm glad to say that my subsequent education has apparently preserved my ability to think logically, and I completed Read more... )

But did you take into account that nothing said the trains were on the same track, which meant to me that they would not inevitably collide. :o)

*thrashes you* Of course the trains were on the same track! Otherwise they couldn't collide. And the collision is the whole point of the problem :D

Always gotta be on the look-out for a trick question! I had this whole looney-tune image in my head of two trains with ferocious expressions bearing down on each other... and passing because they weren't on the same track at all. :o)
