I just read on CNN that the government is giving the millions of items in their seized-items warehouses to the evacuees. Stuff like illegal Hilfiger knockoffs that was seized at the border

I thought that was an excellent idea to put all those Chi-Comm copies to good use! Stupid that our gov't will go after 12-yr-old girls that pirate a song when China pirates billions of dollars of goods every year.

My mind just couldn't resist, though, and now I'm wondering if it was a slip that a federal official had a good idea. :-)

A southern ice cream company that is headquartered where I live also had a genius/ nonstupid idea. They have warehouses for ice cream near the area affected by Katrina where the electricity has been shut off, so the ice cream is melting. They have been trucking the ice cream back to the headquarters and on their way to the warehouse they have been taking supplies and donations from the area to the warehouses and distributing it to the locals.
