Friday. Again.

He's gone where the goblins go, below, below below yo ho...

Wow. I haven't updated with anything substantive in like a million years. I am resisting the inevitable Facebook Slide but it's like a force of nature, man.

There shall be bullet points, and they shall be good.

  • Last night I took the Jeopardy test. It wasn't so bad, I think I did decently. I don't expect I did well enough to merit an interview. We'll see.
  • I cooked a super delicious breakfast food last night and partook of some this morning. Recipe is below the bullet points.
  • Yay, my tax return is here. I was planning to use a good chunk of it to furnish my new guest room. I am also debating on whether to buy a carpet steam cleaner. The Hoover SteamVacuum deep cleaner has excellent reviews and is only $150. I wants it. ETA: Just found the same model gently used on Craigslist for $50. SOLD.
  • I am an unabashed fan of The Gaga. Looooove The Gaga. The secrecy around her new song has been like the launch codes. This morning on the radio on the way to work I heard 40 seconds of it, which has apparently been released as a teaser. I'm...dubious. It sounded familiar somehow. I was like, I know this. What is this? I KNOW this! Then the DJ started singing along over the top of it..."so if you want it right now, make him show you how, express what he's got, baby ready or not..." OMG. It is "Express Yourself." It sounds exactly like it. That might be a first-time Gaga!Fail.
  • I am rewatching season 1 of RuPaul's Drag Race, aka the awesomest reality competition EVER. She was an arrogant bitch but Shannel was FIERCE LIKE WHOA and super hot, both as a guy and as a queen.
  • Increasing temperatures this weekend means HIKING FUCK YEAH.

Uh...that's it.

Breakfast recipe!

1 cup dry quinoa
1 cup milk of the fat level of your choice
1 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp almond extract
3 tbsp Splenda or sugar
strawberries, finely chopped

Soak the quinoa in water for a couple of hours, stirring occasionally. Straing them, discarding the water. In a small saucepan place the water, milk, quinoa, cinnamon and sugar and extract. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to very low and allow to simmer until liquid is absorbed.

Serve quinoa warm with a drizzle of honey and a scoop of chopped strawberries. Makes about 2 cups of quinoa. Yum!
