Weekend. Stuff that happened.

Okay, color me a believer in the power of physical therapy. I've only had two sessions, and two weeks of doing the prescribed exercises. Not even every night. Last week I noticed a significant improvement; I hiked 4.5 miles without knee pain and the remaining 1 mile with minimal pain.

Yesterday I hiked 6 miles with no pain at all. Today I hiked another 6 miles, again without pain, just with a little tightness. On Friday I went in for a massage (I had a free one coming) and I asked Stephen, my kick-ass massage therapist, to do some work on the IT band. He did. It hurt. But I think that might have helped a lot.

Last night I went to a Thanksgiving potluck that some friends of mine have every year. I was eager to see their new house; it's adorable and BIG. Sadly I had not gotten the memo that the start time had been moved earlier so I arrived a good hour after they'd all started eating. I had made a big pan of the sweet potato au gratin. Happily a lot of it got eaten anyway, and everyone exclaimed over how good it was. Yay! I got to hold a cute baby for awhile and talk to people and drink Brian's mulled wine so there's just no bad there.

Today I have annoyances. The toilet in the half-bath downstairs is on the fritz. The tank won't fill ergo it won't really flush. I had to fill the tank with a pitcher before I could flush it earlier. Ah, the joys of renting...I will call the office and like magic it will be fixed. Also my makeup bag has gone AWOL. I know I had it last weekend when I was getting ready for Halloween because I remember going through it to pick out a lipstick for Lizzie Borden. Somehow after that it VANISHED. Grrr. I still have some makeup but all my lipsticks and my good eyeshadow and my eyeliner was in there.

But it was a beautiful day. I hadn't planned to hike but it was too nice out so I went to a Columbus Metropark I'd not yet visited, one of the more famous and big ones.

Tomorrow morning I'm taking Grownup Car to the body shop for its big doctor's appointment to get the dent fixed. So I'll be in a rental for a few days. Sad panda. Grownup Car is still so new to me and now I have to leave it at the body shop for days...I hope it doesn't get separation anxiety. I think I might get it, though.
