San Francisco Erotica

The old St Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco was destroyed by fire in 1962, and in keeping with the times ("Hey man, don't hog the doobie") the Archbishop commissioned the architects to build something bold and modern. Completed in 1970, the archdiocese wanted "a cathedral equal to San Francisco's greatness...".

It appears they got a little more than they bargained for.

At certain times of the day the bold shape leaves a, shall we say, "interesting" shadow on the structure. Apparently nobody considered that during the design process. That picture was taken at 9.35am, from the northeast, a similar apparition is seen from the southeast in the afternoon.

Could it be that we are seeing the Virgin Mary? A bona-fide miracle?
