Gold is Money
We purchased our home here in Missoula 4 years ago last week. As part of the negotiations we mentioned it needed a new roof, and our offer accordingly was low-balled.
We finally decided this year it has to be done. I have a contractor starting soon. Architectural composite shingles, lifetime warranty on the shingles, 15 year complete warranty (the manufacturer pays for the labor in the first 15 years). My builder is going to do a lifetime warranty on the whole thing. New gable vents and extra roof vents.
Price will be $6,800- or 3.6 oz of gold.
The way we see it, the roof is costing us $2,300.
Gold in the middle of August 2007 was $640 an ounce. You can do the math.
