Seriously? I like your name. Were I you, I wouldn't change it.

Well, yeah, I like my name too, but if I was to change it, and it wasn't for the witness protection program or some similar reason, then Firetruck would be my first choice.

This would be my second choice:

Doom

Seriously? All I can say to this is 'dude'.

Also, I was just telling SuziQ yesterday that I'll have to buy some more of that Trader Joe's 17 Bean Soup mix to bring to Mpls for Christmas in January!

... that when Sarah and I were planning to get married (an act we took our time deciding upon to begin with) the main point was to have a family, and we were going to choose a family name. The legal issues were preventatively expensive, but we had fun taking suggestions from all our friends before we discovered that.

The top three contenders: Flower; Wheatberry, and (tada!) Firetruck.

Maria Cielo Wheatberry.
Emmanual Thyme Firetruck.
Robert Rainbow Flower.

Good memories.

I'm taking a Personal day today.

I rather like Flower . . . though I might have pluralized it . . . Flowers just flows better. Maybe it's just me, but I like Ludwig - it's a good solid last name and despite the trappings of partiarchial lineage and whatnot, does have the sort of cultural heritage that makes me feel more in touch with history than if we'd had a wholly new last name.

Flowers magnificentwilf October 28 2005, 19:06:04 UTC
does have a flow to it, or maybe Fluers. I think it works well with Bow's name. He should consider it for a stage name. Maria Cielo Wheatberry would be a good pen name.

Have you read, "The War of the Flowers" by Tad Williams? A faerie tale, The founding families have flower names, Daffodil, Lily, Primrose, Hollyhock, Hellebore, Thornapple, Violet, etc.

mmmm, Hellebore, now that's a pretty cool name for a flower, or a person.

Firetruck Hellebore of Doom!

Take a guess at whether the Hellebore's were protagonists or antagonists in the story.

You know firetruck or doom would be a good name as a pseudonym or pen name, or, or, super hero name, yeah that's it Super Hero. Firetruck of Doom!

At the risk of mimicking my daughter; You know, Doom spelled backwards is mooD

In 500 words or less tell me why the word, Doom speaks to you.

Less then 500 words? Okay. Doom speaks to me in a semi-personal way, as in "Doom is here to stay", "I am your Doom", "Today is the day of your Doom", and many others. Also, it is possible that Doom really is my normal "mooD". Therefore there is Doom in all I do or say. And that is as true a statement as I have ever written.

The Amazing Firetruck of Doom!

Obviously SuziQ is 'gloom' ;)
And that would make me 'fire' and Bow 'brimstone', perhaps.

Are you sure Bow is the Brimstone and you are Fire? I think it is the other way around.
