Ice really is a wonderful subject for photography

Feb 10, 2010 22:26

I scaled down some of the pictures I took in the snow over the weekend, before the real storms hit.  I haven't had a chance to photograph the new, much deeper snow yet due to a lack of sunlight.  Snow looks so much prettier when the light is reflecting off all the ice particles.

Before we get to the snow, here's some doves.  I saw these two in the grown-over trampled remains of a wheat field I call the Bird Nest.
(I love the zoom on this camera <3)

There may not be a lamppost, but this still serves as an excellent example of why I don't need Pandora to visit a fantasy land.

And now my favorite part....MACRO SHOTS!

And another...

I want to get some pictures of the new snow as soon as I've got some good sunlight.  Trekking through the wooded area in our neighborhood in snow twice as deep should be interesting.  The snowdrifts will be that much more irritating when I fall in them.

Finally, I am sad to report that this sunday, I discovered that the Disney Store in my mall (and most of the malls in Indianapolis), my favorite weekend haunt for years, will be closing next saturday.
This was my initial reaction:

.....but then I realized "Hey, I'm going to WDW next January.  Screw you mall!  Your former awesomeness shall be outdone a hundredfold!"
Though I will miss browsing the aisles for the fun of it even though I have no money, and hugging the plush and seeing little kids gawk at merchandise for movies I grew up with.
On the other hand....CLOSEOUT SALE! :D
