Sometimes I Really Love Being a Woman...

And Madonna becoming a New Face of H&M, is one of those times. It is just so cool to see her face when I walk into the store, plastered all over with signs telling me that "Madonna and Crew Love H&M". The tags on the clothing she and her crew choose to wear for the promotional photos have her name written in her hand telling me so. Not only can I see her when walking into a popular clothing establishment, but I can actually try on and possibly choose to purchase and item that she herself helped design. That's where truly loving being a woman comes in. Madonna didn't design clothing for men. Just for women. :) Now, from what I understand, our male friends can peruse the items that Madonna's male dancers and other male members from her current world tour - The Confessions Tour - choose to wear for the promotional photos but, they were not designed by her. Just something they picked from what H&M already had available from their own designers. Still fairly cool, but just not as cool as wearing something that Madonna designed - sorry.

I could totally care less about the clothing that the other female members of her crew are wearing and promoting. If I like the items already, and there is a good possibility that I would, I MAY buy them. But the track suit that Madonna helped design - you bet your ASS that I tried that baby on. In both colors they had available at the Concord Mall H&M - black and white. Now, if it didn't look fabulous on me and fit me nicely where I would have purchased it regardless of who designed it, I would not have walked away with a new black track suit. :)

From H&M's website, I understand that the same track suit is to be available in purple which I am a fan of. Unfortunately, the friendly young gentleman working yesterday informed me that the Concord store will not be carrying the purple one but that the downtown Philly store will. I will be taking the train over there within days to get mine. Yesterday I also purchased another shiny, light blue jacket with the Madonna tag on it. I don't know that she had anything to do with this one - I just liked it. Evidently the store had just begun to get the clothing in and they are expecting alot more stuff as the days pass. You know I'll be making weekly treks to H&M stores in my area.

Another really cool thing is that the entire time I was in the store Madonna's new music was being played. It was her newest album "Confessions on a Dancefloor" with some other things thrown in there. One song in particular I am ashamed that I didn't know what it was. Hopefully Brian and Steve will be able to help me with that. It goes something like, "If I was a painter, I'd be Freida Kahlo. If I was president, I'd be better" etc... Good song. Wish I had it available to listen to.

Anyway - Go to a H&M store near you to check out the coolest 2006 back-to-school (Madonna) trends!
