...and you know it's really serious when the malls close, five days before Christmas. Per channel 3, East Towne and West Towne are both closed today.

It's serious! I just shoveled for about 90 minutes. Taking a little break. I live near West Towne and I don't think I could get there right now unless I walked...and that would take me all morning.

Yeah, I'm on the northside and just walked around the block (had to test out the boots I got last year and never used). Holy crap, it's snowy and windy.

Yeah... UW closed, malls closed, buses not running, blizzard warning... and yet my company is "open" and making everybody use a day of vacation if they can't make it in.

That sucks--sorry to hear it. A couple of years ago my company made the switch and decided to close on days like this with no penalty to us. But in return I've brought work home and I'm doing it now. In between shoveling.

Hell, the fact that Madison schools declared yesterday that they'd be closed today is damn near a sign of the apocalypse.
