Hi, oh wonderful hive mind. I might be looking for a creature that doesn't exist outside my own daydreams, but I thought I'd try anyway, and where better to ask?
I've made one too many unsuccessful attempts at being sociable and meeting people (just to be friendly, not to be creepy) in the neighborhood bar. I can't hear myself think in there, as the jukebox is generally blaring, and it's really not my sort of crowd. I'm a gigantic geek, a little eccentric, and happily bi... and I can't find somewhere to have a drink and chat with people on a random evening. Ack?
Anybody know of a bar/pub, preferably downtown, where you can hear enough to have a conversation without yelling, and where someone who isn't strictly heterosexual won't run the risk of getting chucked out or glared at?
