GHC health insurance? Tell me everything!

After 15 years of various blunders, I am thinking of switching from Dean to GHC during the upcoming open enrollment period. I might have done it sooner, but as near as I can recall I was mostly put off by the fact that there were, like, three dental places you could go in town. I was very happy with GHC when my family was with them. It was never a hassle getting appointments, and just about everything you could think of was covered. And I loved our PCP (Dr. Mark Olinger - he was at the Capitol Clinic, then moved to the new Fitchburg location and we followed him there). He doesn't have the most stellar bedside manner, and was frequently late for appointments (he delivers babies which is always throwing his schedule off). But he was great to work with. He's an older guy with a lot of experience in medicine, so he's seen it all and was very knowledgeable and reassuring, but he also kept up with the latest advances in medicine and was very open-minded about a lot of things. He'd always take the time to answer questions (I never felt rushed, even though he probably had 6 other people waiting to see him) and was very generous with referrals.

I never used the alternative medicine options, but I have a friend who does and is very happy with it. They don't pay for much there, but every bit helps. We didn't have dental insurance through them, and I have no experience with the adult mental health services, but I did get a psychiatric referral for my toddler and it was a very positive experience. Prescription copays were very reasonable as well.

We lost our GHC coverage a year and a half ago when hubby quit his job, and I really miss it. I thought being with a HMO would suck, but on the contrary I felt very well taken care of.
