Injury

I am laid up again - sorta...

Playing volleyball on Tuesday night I dislocated my right shoulder. My shoulder and I have a long history of dislocations, but none since my shoulder repair surgery in spring 2001. I am not at all interested in going down the road that led to that again.
The injury, replacement, and even now were incredibly painful. I actually take this as a good sign - it means my muscles around the shoulder are tight still and would prefer for things to stay in place. When I was dislocating it all the time prior to my surgery it wasn't particularly painful - during or after.
My family doctor recommends a sling and to keep it immobilized for 3 weeks. Not sure how that will go. I do follow up on Monday with an orthopedic doc. As I mentioned above, I don't want to go down the surgery path again, so I am getting it checked out as soon as possible. Following all the recommended advice, trying to be a good patient, etc.
I will keep you guys posted.

So - volleyball is off the schedule for a good while. Gotta find something else for exercise and blowing off steam.
