Several people on my friends list have taken muay thai or shown intrest in learning it. Well, muay thai is a style that is not for most people. To learn muay thai, there is a lot of pain involved. Totally an unfair example.
The TKD fighter was both tactically and strategically doing stupid shit. Why on earth did he try to pull ANY of those spin kicks? Where were his side kicks when the Muay Thai fighter advanced? How come many of the kicks he threw had him off-balance or CAUGHT by his opponent?
I respect the hell out of MT, but putting up that video was putting up a straw man. It is similarly unfair as putting up the following as an example of TKD >> MT:
The skill of the combatants, when grossly out of whack, will produce a seeming stylistic victor, certainly. When I've seen skilled TKD and MT fighters fight, it usually ends in the MT favor because of shin-to-shin repetition.
Sorry to quibble. I just thought your example quite uncharacteristic of how I've seen things go down.

That is what I mean by a straw man. It is almost textbook.
As I said, above, I think that the TKD person is at a disadvantage. I just thought your example actually HURT your case because anyone who might have reason to disagree with you what see the blatant bias in the example used. Your thesis is totally sound, your approach to arguing it... well, as I said...
