HELP! - Computer Problem
I'm hoping some of you more-computer techie minded people can help me here.
In the last 24 hours, my computer has been shutting itself off. It was off over the Easter break whilst I was away. I turned it on at about 4:30pm on Monday, it ran OK and then turned itself off at about 11pm, after it had been idle. When I turned it on again, it ran for about 3/4 an hour, and then shut itself off again - whilst I was reading e-mail (but not actually doing anything).
I'm using an Acer machine, running WindowsXP home. PC-Cillian firewall/anti-virus. I had downloaded and installed DVD REgion Killer, and also a Mozilla Firefox update before it started doing this. I've uninstalled DVD Region Killer, but don't think that could be the problem.
I checked the Power Settings (under the "screen saver" option) and switched them to minimal power saver (usually they were on "never off") but that didn't help.
Anything you can suggest?
