Note: Wow, this turned out longer than I thought it would. See, this is what happens when I get bored and an the muses come alive >.> Oh, and sorry for any mistakes. Just point them out and I'll fix them when ever I get around to it ^^;

"Y'know I still love you, right?"
Dark eyes glanced up from the paper before him and brows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean, Miya?"
Huffing, the soloist pushed himself away from the counter he had been leaning against and made his way over to the couch, plopping himself down next to the drummer. "I love you."
Kai frowned softly and opened his mouth to reply with an 'I love you to' but, the glint of gold int he dim light stopped him, made him close his mouth and shake his head. Miyavi wasn't his to love anymore. He was hers and the simple gold band around a slender tattooed finger was all that Kai needed to be reminded of that.
Grabbing the papers he had been going over, Kai gathered them into a pile and tapped them against the table to get them all nice and neat. "That's very sweet Miyavi. But," He grinned faintly at the tattooed man next to him. "Be careful how you say that. Melody-chan might take it the wrong way." He was trying to tease, to joke about what they once had before she came along.
Before she came along, what Miyavi and him had was beautiful. Their love was filled of smiles and laughter and passion. But then, she came and slowly all the smiles, the laughter and passion went away like water down an unclogged drain. Kai didn't understand why it happened though.
As far as he knew, they were happy. They understood they couldn't be together all the time like a normal couple. Touring, creating records and everything that came with the job as a musician kept them busy and away from each other all year around but, when they got back together after how ever long a part they were, it was like they never left each other.
But, that changed because she was there. She just came out of no where and stole Miyavi from him and at first, Kai hated her. He hated the way she smiled, the way she laughed, the way she had Miyavi wrapped around her delicate little pinkie. But, her smiles, he laughter, it grew on him to and Kai found himself a new friend.
That changed though the moment the news was leaked. Miyavi and Melody were married and expecting their first child in a matter of months. He had no idea when this happen or even how. As far as he knew him and Miyavi were still together and it hurt that he wasn't even worth the time to break up with, was worth the effort to call and say that they were getting married.
For months, he was heartbroken and wouldn't speak, wouldn't even see Miyavi and right here, right now on Miyavi's couch was the first time in what seemed like years that he even spoke and looked at his ex-lover.
"Kai..." Miyavi's voice was serious and lacked the playful ring to it that no matter what was always there. "I still love you."
Frowning, he stood, ignoring the sharp pang of hurt that traveled through him as Miyavi's wedding band once again glinted in the light. What stood to most as a symbol of love and trust and forever, stood for ownership, or heartache to Kai.
"Don't Miyavi. Just don't." He whispered, gathering his papers and clutching them to his chest as if they would protect him. "You can't love me when you choose her. You just can't."
"Kai..." Miyavi trailed off as he stood, reaching out for the smaller man but, Kai backed away and shook his head.
"Don't. I came here to work on this song with you. Nothing more so just, let it go. Let me go because you can't have both." Miyavi couldn't have him and Melody. It wasn't fair to either him or her.
Miyavi open his mouth and whatever he was about to say was cut short by the arrival of Melody who looked between the two of them, one hand resting on her swollen belly and just seeing that and the sparkle of the diamond on her finger broke what was left of Kai's heart.
"Well, I got to go. Ruki-kun has some lyrics for me to look over." He lied, flashing his infamous dimpled smile and he moved around the heavily pregnant woman. "Oh, congratulations on both the marriage and baby, I wish you both the best."
As he turned around, he missed the look of utter heart break in both their eyes for a love that was forever lost and a love that would never be returned.
