>Wow, didn’t know such a small gesture from the company would bring in so much happiness This is how employees are taken for a ride in the sweatshops. I've had enough of mine. Takes some time to realize :P Let me explain. First of all I don't care what rating I'm given in my performance appraisal but over a period of time I've realized that my performance ratings were always higher when I worked too many hours in office as if I'm saving the world from the doomsday. The ratings never touched its maximum when I worked completely organized, highly productive and well appreciated by all the stake holders concerned. It just proves that (especially in the kind of industry and kind of company I work for) its all about bloody number of hours you put at work and number of weekends you spend in the office and screw your life. Of course its always a happy moment when you realize that your piece of code is used by many customers, I'm not denying that. Work-life balance is very important, especially after Nov 30th :P. Well, I can never be an evangelist of work-life balance because I'm known as someone who has screwed it very badly :(
