Writing from Hotel Eden in Rome where they kindly upgraded our room to a suite, very nice.
It has been 2 weeks away from home with the husband on our supposed 'belated honeymoon'. In the last 13 days, we've been from Paris to Roma, then from Athens to Santorini, back to Roma, then Firenze, Milano, Venezia and then Roma again. Lots of packing and unpacking, staying in good and bad hotels and of course, shopping. We hated our Venezia experience and encountered the lousiest hotel with extremely bad service at Hotel Rialto. On shopping, the husband is now a guru in Italian luxury brands and tax refund. We even got Caleb some Gucci and Burberry. Sigh, we just got to work harder when we get back home.
This would be the longest trip away from my little baby and I've never been as homesick before. And our little Caleb is already 10 months old, how time flies. In the last 10 months, he has grown 10 kilos and 26cm, started on music and gym lessons, was down with Roseola and HFMD 2 months ago and was breast fed till he was almost 9 months old. He grew his first tooth at 6 months and breastfeeding got painful when he started biting. Thank God that he has been a relatively easy, happy and friendly baby. He eats and drinks easily and exploring solids with him was fun. He even took the soy formula milk very well when he developed bad diarrhea and nappy rash.
We've also been very grateful for my mom who selflessly decided to retire to help with babysitting Caleb and we can't thank her enough. Next would be to plan for Caleb's first birthday party. We booked a place we really like and are getting excited about it! :))
Will be back home in 24 hours.
