Still here...no, really, I am....
Again, I'm going to say that I'm amazed anyone at all is still on my flist. I hardly post at all anymore. I don't have a whole lot of spare time to post, and when I do, I find that I have very little to write about.
First off, happy 4th for yesterday. Hope everyone had a good day off.
So, last I left off, school has let out for the year. In the meantime, I've been applying like crazy to any area school district that's looking for elementary teachers. Now begins the waiting game--my colleagues tell me that not much happens until around August (when districts find out definitively who's staying/going, and what vacancies they have). It's killing me, but I just need to be patient.
We also had a graduation party for the spouse. She got her master's in May, but due to family commitments, we couldn't celebrate until June. We invited some family, work friends, school friends, and friends friends over, and a good time was had by all.
I've also been doing a good bit of contract work. I'm still doing radio/TV work for my former employer, and I also got a nifty "new" computer last time I was there. It's still only a Quicksilver G4 running OS 9, but the programs I use only work in OS 9, and upgrading to OS X versions would require a very expensive hardware/software upgrade. Nevertheless, this G4 is about 3 times faster than the one I was using, so I'm seeing the time it takes me to do things diminish.
Other than that, not much else is going on. Other than the contract work, I'm not working this summer. I've also got a couple of video projects to finish (a wedding video and some personal projects). The only other thing going on is our annual trip to Maine, coming at the end of July. Really looking forward to that.
