2012: The year the Monolith fell apart

Jun 17, 2012 11:30

In 2000, I had a Monolith made in the correct 1:4:9 proportions (see userpic) in honor of the approaching year. This traveled to New Millennium party (which was held on the correct date, unlike the many sheeple who observed it a year early) and to Boskone's Art Show. Its home since then has been my living room.

This morning I found it lying on its side, evidently the result of feline sabotage. Nothing's broken, but close examination showed one of its seams has significantly separated. I think it's time to consider it gone.
