After seeing Cabaret with Zilla and Fyfe last night we found ourselves in a bar, but not just any bar, this bar was the single most madenning place I've ever been in, it was like the level on computer games where your character's just starting to go insane. For starters it was just that little bit too dark so that while everything seemed real it was very difficult for me tell what I was actually seeing. On entering, the place seemed to consist entirely of corridors because it was a rectangular room centered on a number of booths, but all these booths were closed by wooden sliding doors that made them look like walls, in these doors were mesh windows through which could be seen people but because of the light I couldn't tell if they were screens or mirrors and for a little while I was convinced that there were people trapped in the walls. Also, one long corridor that winds back on itself is not conducive to sanity... and the walls were squishy! The bar itself was packed and there were enough people behind there to be serving them all, but for some reason only one was doing so, and then it turned out to be one of those places that charge $4 for a bottle of water because it's imported from Tuscany and where the staff treat anyone who orders water like scum. Fyfe and I failed the required sanity test and fled pretty soon after arriving, then we stayed up until 4am drinking and playing card games.
