Alphabet Stew
I received a voicemail today. She said that her name was Dee, she gave her work number and then, assuming that I was an idiot, reminded me to "be sure to ask for Dee."
I started thinking of scenarios where I could make a mistake in calling her back and ruin EVERYTHING.
"Hello, may I please speak with F? No, no.. hold on, it's P. No, C... crap. Somebody with a letter for a name. I just can't remember which letter."
I started wondering if people often called her office, forgetting which member of the alphabet to ask for.
I returned her call later on in the afternoon. Imagine my surpise when someone answered the phone, "Thank you for calling ABC, this is Jay."
