 80’s Music - Depeche Mode

Labeled as “the most popular electronic band the world has ever known” by the Q magazine and an influence among contemporary artists like Tokio Hotel, Deftones, and Coldplay, Depeche Mode is without a doubt one of the best pop bands of all time. 80’s was the era of pop, retro, rhythms and blues, and Depeche Mode’s album, Violator, stays true to that. The first single from the album, “Personal Jesus”, is one of their most popular singles to date. A lot of the lines rhyme so the song’s really catchy but the song has a beautiful message by itself. According to their lyricist, Martine Gore, the song’s all about being a person to give other people hope and care. He also mentioned how this typically happens in a love relationship. Scavenge hunt your parents’ disc racks and you’ll probably find one if not all of Depeche Mode’s albums. Don’t hesitate to give it some play time, you’ll be syncing your way later for sure.
